The primary job responsibility of the Lift Mechanic is to perform all facets of maintenance and repairs on our system of lifts to ensure the safe and reliable transportation of our guests.
Safety is paramount and a high level of awareness relating to safety is required.

The Entry Lift Mechanic responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Adheres to Vail Resorts Health & Safety as well as Lift Maintenance department policies and procedures
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is a primary function of this position
  • The ability to apply one s self to learning about unique mechanical systems
  • Ability to perform work with minimal supervision and work effectively under pressure
  • Performs scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance and repairs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability
  • Performs work within ANSI and Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board standards
  • Documents all work performed per established processes to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Informs Lift Maintenance management and Lift Dispatch for all unusual equipment conditions, observations, and incidents
  • Responsible for the upkeep and cleaning of lift maintenance shops and lift terminals
  • Safely operates vehicles, snowmobiles, and other vehicles
  • Other duties as assigned

Entry Lift Mechanic
Qualifications:

  • Education:
    High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Some mechanical or industrial maintenance experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of basic hand and power tools as well as shop equipment preferred
  • Possess a valid US driver's license required
  • Proficient on computers, including Microsoft applications required
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English required
  • Able to work at heights up to 100 Feet required
  • Able to work in a variety of outdoor mountain weather conditions required
  • Able to work weekends and holidays required
  • Able to work unscheduled overtime as needed required
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs required
  • Able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment required
  • Able to stand for up to 4 hours during a shift without sitting required

The target hourly wage for the Entry Lift Mechanic is $15.
00 to $20.
00 per hour.
Actual pay is dependent on experience.

The Intermediate Lift Mechanic responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Adheres to Vail Resorts Health & Safety as well as Lift Maintenance department policies and procedures
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is a primary function of this position
  • The ability to apply one s self to learning about unique mechanical systems
  • Ability to perform work with minimal supervision and work effectively under pressure
  • Performs scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance and repairs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability
  • Performs work within ANSI and Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board standards
  • Documents all work performed per established processes to ensure regulatory compliance

  • Manages up to 3 people

Intermediate Mechanic
Qualifications:

  • Education:
    High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 3 years of mechanical or industrial maintenance experience required
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Proficient with hand and power tools as well as shop equipment required
  • Intermediate knowledge of hydraulics required
  • Magnetic particle, ultrasonic, or other non-destructive testing experience preferred
  • Possess a valid unrestricted US driver's license required
  • Proficient on computers, including Microsoft applications required
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English required
  • Able to work at heights up to 100 Feet required
  • Able to work in a variety of outdoor mountain weather conditions required
  • Able to work weekends and holidays required
  • Able to work unscheduled overtime as needed required
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs required
  • Able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment required
  • Able to stand for up to 4 hours during a shift without sitting required
  • Intermediate level skier/snowboarder required

The target hourly wage for the Intermediate Lift Mechanic is $20.
00 to $26.
20 per hour.

The Advanced Lift Mechanic responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Adheres to Vail Resorts Health & Safety as well as Lift Maintenance department policies and procedures
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is a primary function of this position
  • Ability to perform work with minimal supervision and work effectively under pressure
  • Performs scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance and repairs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability
  • Performs work within ANSI and Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board standards
  • Documents all work performed per established processes to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Informs Lift Maintenance management and Lift Dispatch for all unusual equipment conditions, observations, and incidents
  • Assists in the training and support of apprentices, maintenance assistants, and seasonal lift operations team members
  • Identifies and develops training opportunities
  • Responsible for the upkeep and cleaning of lift maintenance shops and lift terminals
  • Safely operates vehicles, snowmobiles, and other equipment
  • Communicates frequently with other departments such as lift operations, fleet maintenance, grooming, and snowmaking
  • Manages up to 6 people
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Education:
    High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 5 years of mechanical or industrial maintenance experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of PLC and industrial controls strongly preferred
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Proficient with all types of hand and power tools as well as shop equipment required
  • Proficient in hydraulic system troubleshooting and component replacement required
  • Magnetic particle, ultrasonic, or other non-destructive testing experience preferred
  • Possess a valid US driver's license required
  • Commercial Driver s License strongly preferred
  • Proficient on computers, including Microsoft applications required
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English required
  • Able to work at heights up to 100 Feet required
  • Able to work in a variety of outdoor mountain weather conditions required
  • Able to work weekends and holidays required

The budgeted range starts at $17.
